Veiled Minds speaks to the desire to truly want to reach someone who has closed themselves off. It reflects the tension between wanting to understand someone deeply, and being met with distance, silence, or emotional detachment. The sculpture was meant to be carefully finished, but while it was drying it started cracking and evetually even exploded in the kiln before completion. That break, unexpected and irreversible, now feels fitting. The work was about a fractured connection, its destruction became part of the story it was already telling.
