Hollow Halves

2021 | 20 x 25 x 20 cm | sculptures | ceramics, acrylics, internal magnets

Identity Flux explores the idea of identity as something fluid, shifting, and never quite fixed. The small figures wear interchangeable magnetic masks, allowing faces to be removed, swapped, and redefined. Each mask varies in shape and colour, highlighting how identity resists singular form and is constantly being rewritten.

The work invites reflection. How much of who we are is shaped by our own choices, and how much by the world around us? Is identity something we build, something we perform, or something that adapts to survive? What mask do we choose to wear today? And is it ever just one?
